Measured by acreage, Copper Mountain is actually the largest resort in Summit County. Although it may be relatively unknown to out-of-state visitors, residents of Colorado real estate flock to Copper Mountain's secret terrain to avoid the long lines at the central lifts and at other resorts.
Copper Mountain is only five minutes from Frisco CO real estate, twelve minutes to Silverthorne's outlet stores and restaurants, and only 75 miles along Interstate 70 from downtown Denver CO real estate and amenities. Along with skiing and riding, Copper Mountain real estate is near fabulous golfing and mountain-biking options.
The resort facilities, owned and operated by Interwest, are divided into three villages called East village, The Village at Copper (also called Center Village) and Union Creek, which is to the west. Recently, the welcome improvements to the resort, including the construction of dozens of new hotels, condominiums, restaurants, shops, and bars and the upgrading of the lift system, invite larger numbers of people to the beautiful area.
Known for its wide variety of naturally separated terrain, the ski area features a ski school and beginner slopes on the western side of the mountain, intermediate slopes in the center, and expert terrain on the eastern side. Advanced black-diamond slopes are located on Copper and Union Peaks, which rise above 12,000 feet. Four expert-only bowls including Copper Bowl, Union Bowl, Spaulding bowl, and Resolution Bowl await the adventurous skier. The expert bowls are comparable in difficulty to the infamous bowls in other resorts.
The 125 total trails are rated 21 percent beginner, 25 percent intermediate, 36 advanced, and 18 percent expert. They stream over 2,433 acres of magnificent terrain blanketed with 280 inches of snow annually. In addition, almost four hundred acres get a touch of manmade snow. The Base elevation is 9,712 feet and the elevation peaks at 12,313 feet.
A generous number of lifts (22) move skiers and riders about the resort. The Super Bee is a high-speed six-passenger lift. There are four high-speed quad lifts named American Flyer, American Eagle, Timberline, and Excelerator, as well as five triple chair, five double chair, two surface, four conveyor, and one tubing-zone lifts. Virtually every lift is accessible from the top of either the Eagle or the Flyer, but tourists tend to stick to the Center Village lifts.
The resort community is located in the Mountain Time Zone and uses zip code 80443, the Frisco post office and area code 970. For easy directions and loan information, contact Kelly Oberbillig of Paragon Real Estate Group LLC at Kelly@Paragon4Home.com or call (303) 946-3745.
