The prime location of Centennial's Denver Colorado homes--between Littleton to the west, Greenwood Village to the north, Lone Tree and Foxfield to the south, and Aurora real estate to the northeast--in Arapahoe County makes it the tenth most populous city in Colorado at this time. The statutory city is comprised of over 100,000 residents reaching out over 27.9 square miles in the Denver Metropolitan Area with a median age of 37.2 years.
With plans underway to improve transportation and with proximity to the Denver International Airport, the population will continue to grow at a rapid rate and Paragon will offer Colorado home loans to new residents of this Denver CO real estate.
Interesting modern history includes the February 7, 2001 incorporation from portions of the Arapahoe County real estate in an effort to prevent annexation to Greenwood Village. Citizens of an unincorporated portion of Arapahoe County voted in 2000 to incorporate and chose the official name. Centennial Airport lies adjacent to but outside of the city limits and predates the city by over 30 years.
Part of the promise to citizens during the voting period is to keep city taxes at one percent! After incorporating, local businesses pitched in to fund the majority of services. Fortunately, the highly rated Cherry Creek Public Schools and Littleton Public Schools join a selection of private schools in providing a fine education for the children and youth of the city.
Because the city's borders are highly irregular, many people including residents are understandably confused when it comes to defining their location. In places, the city map appears as a checkerboard with adjacent communities appearing inside the borders in certain places. The region sits at an elevation of approximately 5,830 feet, a bit higher than the metro area.
The city has no resemblance to James Michener's 1974 Douglas County-based novel Centennial. However, as a part of the Front Range Urban Corridor, life in Arapahoe and Douglas Counties do share the South Platte River, the Rocky Mountain-recreational and metropolitan-cultural amenities, as well as the healthy, vibrant lifestyle so characteristic in the region.
Notable landmarks are the International Headquarters for Gamma Phi Beta sorority, the first women's organization to use the term "sorority" and the metropolitan location for the Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
It is located in the Mountain Time Zone and utilizes the zip codes of 80015, 80016, 80111, 80112, 80121, 80122, and 80161.
